Dental assistants play an essential role in the dental office. They make patients feel more comfortable in the chair and help the dentist in providing relief to patients with painful dental conditions. They work with the dentists by assisting them while the dentist examines and treats patients. Dental Assistants assist dentists with proper instruments and materials during a patient examination. In some dental offices a Certified Dental Assistant may perform clerical and laboratory duties, as well.
